Disabled access can often be a problem for many when choosing a suitable alcohol or drug detox, many simply aren’t accessible for people with a mobility problems. Disabled Detox Intake Procedure
The intake procedure for a disabled detox starts with a risk assessment, these are generally completed by our admissions team and screen for any potential risks, mobility problems and logistical problems. After this time our specialist disabled nurse will discuss your individual disability and establish what we will need to do in order to make sure your stay with us is comfortable and effective. She will ask questions like:
What is your disability?
Do you use any specialist disability equipment such as banana boards and hoists etc?
Do you use a wheelchair?
Do you need help washing, dressing and feeding yourself?
Do you use a catheter?
Do you need help with pressure sores etc?
